AVILAS HAS BEEN IN EL PASO FOR YEARS, BUT LATELY IT HAS BECOME VERY SLOPPY WITH THERE MENU & STAFF.IT NEEDS TO CHANGE THERE WHOLE MENU .I THINK ITS BEEN THE SAME SINCE IT FIRST OPEN. NEW MENU ITEM WOULD BE GREAT AND MAYBE A LITTLE SEAFOOD WOULD BE GOOD TOO. MANAGMENT, WELL
AS FOR THE ONE ON MONTANA, IT COULD USE SOME HELP SAME WITH THE STAFF.I BEEN GOING ALOT LATELY AND JUST TO SEE IF ANYTHING HAS CHANGED AND EVERY TIME ITS DISSAPOINTING.AVILAS REALLY NEEDS SOME WORK WITH THERE FOOD & PEOPLE.
Great Mexican Food, Service exemplary service

The best enchilada's I've ever had. Service with a smile, asked for extra sides everyone was more than happy to help. Other reviews have mentioned that they need a bigger menu; THEY DON'T its good regional food thats what they make. If you like enchiladas, tacos, rellenos, tamales definately try this place. Sopaipillas also come with every meal.
- Pros: Food, Service
Can't see how this is the best in El Paso at all.

I have never had a bad server here, or seen any scandalous employee behavior. But the food is just average. Not great, but not bad. The ambience is crowded, not pleasant. The menu is boring. Too bad the sopapillas can't be a main dish, because they are the only really good thing here.
- Pros: Sopapillas
- Cons: Cramped setting, boring menu, average food
Not good.

Avila's used to be wonderful but now I am not so sure. I'm sorry to say that today, this restaurant could not be more overrated. The food was not the best I've had, especially on the borderland. The entire place is far too crowded and confined. The service is even beginning to slack as I see managers flirting with young women in the front. I have also personally seen the Mr. Avila himself humiliate an employee in front of other customers after she repeatedly apologized. Customer service is clearly a priority but at what cost?

Alvila's is an old family restaurant and has a good reputation, but I found the food to be bland and boring. The sauce on the chiles rellenos tasted like undiluted tomato soup. The tacos were greasy ans the service was slow. We were there on a weekday afternoon after the lunch rush. My second try, the service was better, but the food still uninspiring.
