Good Authentic Mexican where Texmex is the norm. Where I come from Texmex is not a good thing. And rightly so. When you want Mexican food, you want Mexican food, not some Anglo contrived mish mash. So far this is the best Mexican food we have found in El Paso. It is situated right between Mr. Pollo Chicken Grill and Taco Bell on Viscount. You will be drawn to the yellow building on the corner which is Mr. Pollo... but Taco Campero is the larger whitish building. There is lots of room inside and a self serve salsa/salad bar. Their menu is extensive and includes shrimp, fish, and steak. We had the chicken fajitas and beef fajita tacos which were quite tasty. The complimentary green chile salsa appetizer was obvisously from locally fresh roasted green chiles and accordingly supreme. We are looking forward to our next visit (update to follow :)
