HORRIBLE! GROSS! YUCK!!!! FILTHY FILTHY!.
The first impression of the store is a dirty atmosphere. The lady that greets you speaks ONLY spanish! So let me get this straight, she's in America.. El Paso, Texas.. a MAJOR military location.. and she cannot speak English?! Who's mom is this?!
So, since she can't speak English and I say, "I don't speak Spanish." A guy from behind the counter for money orders or something, yells to me what she's saying. WOW! How totally unprofessional!
But no.. it doesn't stop there! You get to move through the dirty store with disheveled shelves, dirty floors, produce from Mexico (isn't this the same place that the Cartel is overtaking? And they're a supplier for MY food? I don't think so!)
And then there's the meat counter. Do they ever clean it?
I get that people from poor backgrounds "accepting" this store, but come on... this is so sub par you have to wonder how they pass inspection.
Suggestions: 1) CLEAN the store! 2) Hire someone that speaks ENGLISH to greet customers. 3) CLEAN THE STORE!
I'd rather pay triple anywhere else than EVER shop there again! GROSS!!
Great Produce and prices but the meat is something to see.
The Produce is the best, and I have found at the best prices.
There are specials thoughout the store that make it worth shopping there.
The meat, what to say? The steaks are PAPER thin!
All you need to do is heat them up and it is like eating shoe leather.
Steak should be 1/2 inch or more thick but that is their roast!!
When I complained they said they receive it that way and all they do is wrap it. :-(
An addition to the store's structure would be nice.. On the few Big 8 stores I've been in El Paso I would like to contact their corporate office to give them a couple of tips for their stores. One would be that it would be pretty neat if they had a deli right next to the meat department. You know sort of like a restaurant built in a grocery store. There is one establishment that is built like that and happens to be one of my current clients. The second tip I would have to discuss with the executives of the Lowe's Big 8 Stores. The store is good in space when it comes to customer traffic. The prices on certain items seems fair and decent.
