El Paso >Track One
The Best Wings Ever!. Just to let u know, i have worked in the service industry for a while.... My first time at track one i realized this is not your average "corporate" restaurant. First there is no designated hostess, the waitresses take care of more than just the tables. After a good 20 minute wait we were sat in the original dinning car "awesome" towards the back of the train. Our waitresses name slips my mind, but she was very friendly and knew just what I wanted. May I suggest the double dip wings to any first timers, you will not be disapoited. The chicken nachos are also worth the wait. My over all impression of track one... go. go now. You be hooked the first time!
Great food at great prices.
I have been going there for years. I read previous reveiws. I agree service is a little bad at times, but the food is great. I really love the philly steak sandwiches as well as their club sandwiches.
The wings are to die for. Even more so the double dip! I truly enjoy them, because they are sweet and spicy ( not to bad for those with heartburn)
Cooks do a great job with presentation. Never had a bad time wether it be night or day.
Foods ok, I went just two hours ago. Got fusterated with the waitresses cuz they buzy talking up some drama instead of serving food. The cook looked mad because he told them to take food out cuz it was just sitting there. To much drama in that place within the workers. Bar keep is pretty chill and serves a hell of a great drinks. Cook today was good, can't complain cuz it tasted good and looked just as good.
service suks though, i wanted more tea and had to wait at least 8 or 9 minutes before the blonde waitress even noticed my hand was signing her to come to my table. Bad waitresses seriously, they talk to much or are on their phones.
That ticked me off, my food was not even warm cuz they didn't get their asses up to get the meals out. I saw the cook getting all upset off at them about it but still they didn't work faster. Sad, cuz the quality of food is alright, but service suks. I rather go to Applebees and get fast service with ok food. Then waste my time with those lazy waiters.
Like I said the bar keep tonight was good as well as the cook cuz I still tasted the quality of food despite it being on the cold side. But yeah those waitresses messed my meal today. I wanted to speak to the manager but the waitress claimed no one was there. So next time I go I will raise hell if it happends again.
Great Wings and Great cooks on weekend nights!.
I have been coming here for years. It's the best place to get good tasting wings at a cheaper price then most join without cutting the quality of food. Some of the food on the menue is a little to pricey though, I would wish they would price things a little better.
One thing I have noticed is that most the times I go I never get consistancy in the taste and quality of the food. I have learned that this tall man who works in the back is the more dedicated cooks there. Waitresses have recammended me to come on weekend during the night shifts, because this man puts more into the meals. Which I have found to be true. That young man doesn't look like the most friendliest person, but when I complimented his meal the waitresses sadi he was really happy to hear that. I enjoy eating on the weekends but the only downfall is wait time is longer due to mass amount of customers. So if you go during the night ask for the tall broad man with long hair. I do not know his name but I know he is a big man and a tall one.
I like the overall atmosphere. Service could be better the night shift though.Waiters and waitresses take longer in the night.
During the day I really enjoy when this multi colored hair waitress tends to me. She is very kind and always refills your drinks without a question. She is very proffesional and down to earth. As well as one of the older waitresses there her names Joanne and I admit she can get a bit chatty but she is a very kind woman and I read another reveiw and it is certainly not true that she drinks or steals. She is a great asset to track one as she always has been.
best wings in town. The double dip wings are to die for. The chicken nachos are also great. The only draw back is the service. If it wasn't for the quality of the food, the place would have been out of business by now due to the wait staff. I haven't dined in track one for over 2 years and don't plan on doing so soon. I do however order take out every week during football season. Can't go wrong ordering the chicken nachos and double dipped wings to go. Track One does however out do themselves on their take out orders. Track One includes plates, lotsof napkins and towelettes when ordering out. No other wing in El Paso can compare to Track One's double dip wings. The wings are big and with an order of 10 wings washed down with Shiner Bock beer, you can't go wrong.
I am a regular there and honestly the food is great. The cooks are awsome guys and well woman. I suggest to everyone that "superman" aka Rene cook the steaks and Freddy make the wings. These guys are the best. After going there for years I really can say it's a great place to go. The waitresses are a little slow and make tons of mistakes. Thats the real downfall of the place. The waitresses rather talk on the phone or eat instead of tending to the guests. I rather hate the head waitress, she is always giving special treatment to certain people. She likes to talk more then serve, she is always complaining about something to the customers, she drinks on the job, doesn't put cash inthe register ( pockets it), she gives free food to her friends, and most of all after asking her for a receipt she gets upset and tells you no. After experiences that skinny old witch with a J in her name :), I would not go during the day anymore.
The owner really needs to keep his eye on her because she is a stealing and a bad asset to his buisness.
Trip to El Paso and first Take of Track One.
Ok I experienced this resturant on two occasions.
At first look I wasn't exactly in the mood to even eat at Track One, but my wife insisted since she is a native El Pasoan. Being my first time eating at any local joints in El Paso I was a little worried since I am a very picky person.
Well, as most places on a Saturday night it was extremely busy. I was a little fusterated, but when I received my meal I was really inpressed. I ordered a steak. Usually, when I order a steak it's not done to my taste. But this steak was the best steak I have ever eaten. It was juicy and tender. I tried the wings my wife ordered and they were great. But man that steak was really really good. I asked the waitress to tell the cook he did a great job.
So after having a great steak that day I went back on tuesday just to get disapointed. The steak was bland and burnt on the outside yet raw on the inside.
I was told that on Saturday a tall man with long hair cooked my steak and that if I show up on the weekends I will get the same great steak.
So I recamend going on the weekends in the evenings and ask for the tall long haired cook to cook your steaks.
Excellent Wings. It's a bit of a divey, tight spot (being in an old train car and all), but they've got some of the best buffalo wings ever! I haven't been back in a while, but the double-dipped (spicy bbq and honey), extra crispy are incredible.
