Does not live up to its name or rep.
I took a Lifetime Warranty tube back in its original box with the warranty on the side of the box. Guaranteed for the life the the apparatus. The girl there tried to claim that Realistic was not a Radio Shack brand. When it was pointed out the box said it was packaged for Radio Shack she go on the phone to corporate and she could not replace the "Lifetime" part.
When the term was coined by radio operators a radio shack was a place where not only were radios used, but they could be repaired there. Radio Shack was once a very proud establishment when fine consumer electronics and electronics parts could be purchased. Their prices were lower than most of the non-electronics chain stores. Now they offer the same stuff your local Wally World does and their prices are higher.
It is sad to see but it looks the the choices being made by corporate are insuring that yet another Tandy corporation is on its slow but sure way out of the market.

When it comes to selection, the Kmart of electronics carries practically every tech goody under the sun..
In Short
While the name dates back to the invention of the radio at the turn of the 20th century, today the electronic store offers a myriad of modern technological finds. With equipment ranging from the latest crop of cell phones, digital cameras, batteries, and various accessories for the home, car and office, the store can outfit even the most electronically-challenged shopper. The sales associates are dedicated, knowledgeable and quick to assist and answer any questions. And yes, you can still buy a radio there, too.
