Great haircut!. I moved to El Paso in January and have visited two other local hair stylists. One by referral and one I found online - both were terrible. I stumbled upon Carmen online last week and and decided I would give her a try. After the last two experiences I literally was ready to fly back to my hometown for a haircut if I didn't get a good one today - luckily I was happily surprised!

It was easy to get an appointment, and the service I received was excellent! We spent about 5 minutes discussing my hair, what I wanted, what color length & style. I hadn't had a cut/color for 3 months bc my last cut was so terrible and I wanted enough to grow out so the next person could salvage it. I'm thankful I took a chance on this salon!!

Carmen was wonderful, the color was just what I asked for and a little better than I expected. She gave perfect even highlights and natural looking as I asked. I love the cut, it's super cute and easy to style. I don't understand the people that said she doesn't know how to cut hair or listen - she was the first person in this town that actually did listen to me! She asked questions throughout the whole process to taylor the style and service to my needs. She did talk to me the whole time, but I don't see how that is a negative, isn't that what a hair dresser is supposed to do??

Overall, excellent cut. Worth the drive and I will be back! I'm glad I found her through google and not this site, if I had seen the reviews here I may never have gone and would have missed out on a good cut.

whatever bitches..go hate on someone else.... whatever you haters got to say about my hairdresser say to her face !!!!!!! i must say shes being doin something right cause shes been there 15 years.

Lots of Blahblah - No Haircutting Skills. I cannot agree more with the previous reviewers

CSMobileuser and Sharanne. Carmen definitely does not listen to what customers want and does her own thing without asking. I will NEVER go back there again.

After reading all the good comments about this salon, I went there last May. I had asked for caramel accents and a haircut which resembled the Nicole Richie bob.

Instead of accents I got lots of thinly weaved lowlights which made me look like a redhead. I was devasted.

The haircut did not resemble what I wanted either.

She had left the hair way too long for it to look right.

She has no haircutting skills whatsoever. The

only thing she is good at is b.s.ing customers.

I paid over 100 Dollars for a crappy hairstyle.

I was also surprised to learn that she had only 1 or 2 employees. The other reviews had made me believe

it was "THE trendy salon to go to". In reality it is not so at all. Just a small hole in the wall with dusty rock'n'roll memorabilia here and there. A successful , modern and professional hairsalon looks different to me.

She will make you think you look great.. Ok! I been reading the reviews and you're all right she's a wonderful talker! Makes you feel like she knows you and that she will make you a godess. She has been coloring my hair for the past 3 years BUT I did not leave her because I felt good with her treatment but not her work. SHE WILL NEVER LISTEN, and she will always do what she wants, she doest not know how to cut hair. And if we talk about color she will always give you something you did not ask BUT SHE WILL MAKE YOU THINK YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL and you will buy it, because of how nice she is, but the truth is that you will walk out there with your hair yellow, orange or even red when you only asked for some beige highligths. Believe me 4 of my friends stoped going because they got tired she never did what they asked for. Nice person, bad colorist.

IF THERE WAS AN OSCAR FOR "BEST HAIR SALON "THEY WOULD TAKE IT HOME. I was surprised to think that i could get my hair done in El Paso and feel like i was back home in Manhattan.,private rooms,high quality japanese hair products,i was amazed by this "CARMEN" go to El Paso and get your hair done by her

THIRD YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH CARMEN BUT SHES WELL WORTH IT

Waiting to Grow It Out. After reading the reviews here, I was anxious to try Carmen's. It's true, they know how to treat customers so they feel pampered. My shampoo included a head and neck massage. However, on the day I was there, I felt rushed through the process from beginning to end.

I wanted the same style I had when I walked in, but wanted face-framing layers and a little off the length. I had hoped Carmen would take a look at my hair before it was wet from shampooing, so she could analyze my style and get an idea of how curly it is, etc. She didn't see it until after the shampoo. I explained what I wanted and she rapidly started cutting. Before I knew it, my hair was cut in the same layered style I see on many women, not in the way I had described. I think it was the fastest hair cut I've ever had.

After that, another person styled it. That was quickly accomplished, too. When I went to pay, I was shown an expensive flat iron and asked if I wanted to buy it.

After I got home, I saw that I now had choppy layers which will take a year or more to grow out. It's been quite a challenge to style, as it works against the curly hair type I have. Certainly Carmen is outgoing and bubbly, very entertaining. But for $50, I expected someone to take a moment to determine my needs and a haircut which would work well for me. I guess if you want Carmen to "do her thing", you'd be fine.

Carmen's: Miracle Worker. Carmen is a true pro. She has done wonders with my hair in the past but has outdone herself. I am a breast cancer survivor. I lost my hair due to chemo. It has grown back some but has a thicker texture, is curly all over, with grey as well. Carmen did miracles with my hair. It is now blonde, straight and shiny. Thanks to her expert coloring and styling with this challenging hair from chemo, I now feel like a new woman. She has given me the best gift of all: feeling pretty again, which I was beginning to feel would never happen. Carmen is a true blessing to me. There is no one who knows hair like Carmen does. Thank you!

Its the absolute hotspot for a gorgeous do!. From the moment i walked in i got rockstar treatment. I was greeted imidiatly and offered a diet coke, water, or even a tecate.....who can turn down a tecate? The decor is one of a kind, and because every stylist has their own private room, you get one on one Carmen time the entire appointment! Carmen made me feel as if I had known her all my life by the time we were done. My highlights, color, and cut have been the talk of the town ever since the first day I got them done. Im so glad I trusted her expert opinion in let her do what she thought would look best. So all in all, please visit her with an open mind and trust that you will walk out feeling good about yourself from the inside out!!!

"Hairs" the best place!!!...). I discovered Carmen through a coworker and I will go no place other now! I wanted a place who would care about my haircut and my hair and not so much glam and glitter! When you walk in your greeted like a old friend no matter who you are. You are sat down and asked whatcha want to drink and then off to shampoo. No matter who you stylist is your haircut is discussed and suggestions are made if needed. The stylist takes thier time attending to your wants and needs, they are always up on thje newest and hippest ideas in hair, but you wont get a cookie-cutter haircut here, each style job is personalized to your liking! Theres always a variety of people at Carmen from TV personalities to Grandmas to teens ( an occasional Elvis sighting...) but everyone is here for the same reason! The best personal attention haircut in town.... You're crazy if you go elsewhere!!!
