i had high hopes, but....
I've lived in El Paso for over 30 years and had never been to this restaurant. My husband took me on a whim. I did have high hopes. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and over salted. I played it safe and ordered the tortilla soup (which did have chicken and overripe avocado). Husband usually orders a combination plate. It wasn't very authentic either.
I won't return unless there is a special reason (another friend or family member request it). I really do wish the food was better!
My all time favorite.
I can't even believe this place is still open. I lived in El Paso in the early 80's. Every time my parents asked me where I wanted it eat, it was Forti's, without question.
My favorite was the cheese enchiladas. They were to die for.
If you ever start shipping dinners to Chicago, PLEASE let me know.
I highly recommend this resterant.
Avoid at all cost, and save your money!!!!!!!. The worst place to eat in El Paso, if you want over priced "Mexican food" that is no where near close to being any good and having your order giving to you wrong this is your place. I lived in El Paso for over 30 years and my advise towards this place is to don't just walk away, RUNAWAY!!! The cashier couldn't even run a credit card correctly, charging me someone's bill and then had to wait to get a refund. Just a poor restaurant all round.
The salsa is awesome. Forti's is one of the best mexican restaurants i've ever been to. The tamale on my combo plate was excellent & the salsa that comes with the chips is incredible. Very delicious food! You need to eat here.
best mexican in all of ep. even though there are tons of mexican res. in el paso, this is one of the greatest. You can always count on this place having something you like. waitstaff is great!
One of the Best in town. This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants this side of the border. Neither my wife nor I have ever had a bad meal here. If you want to try several items,be sure to get one of their combination plates. The only thing that I can say is a draw back is the two lane road taking you to the restaurant. Sunday afternoon you can listen to Mariachi music as you eat.
Old World Charm.
Upon driving up to their parking lot it was as if we had been transported back to a Mexican plaza. The outside of the building reminded me of an hacienda. Once inside we were seated and our order taken within five minutes. They kept our tostadas and salsa full until the plates with our delicious food was brought out. The atmosphere was very romantic. There were very few people that evening maybe because it was the day after the 4th of July. It was quite intimate and private eventhough we were right outside the waiter's station. Our server was Victor. He was very knowledgeable on all aspects of their very extensive menu. Our food was hot and tasty. We would recommend Forti's to anyone who travels and doesn't know what the locals already know about it being a great restaurant to dine at.

grEAT!. This place offers the best in mexican food. The service is good but the restaurant tends to get pretty full but make sure to get Rigo as your server and he will offer you exceptional service 100% of the time. =)
WONDERFUL!. I GREW UP COMING TO THIS RESTERAUNT EVERY WEEK. NOW THAT I MOVED AWAY, I REALLY MISS THE GREAT FOOD!!!
