Try not to have your baby here – This was my second baby and unfortunately I chose to have her at this hospital, worst experience of my life. I had to have a C-section and one nurse that worked there kept telling me to breath deeply to manage my pain. I wanted to say "what the hell do you think I'm doing already?", but unfortunately I couldn't because I was trying to breath as deeply as I could to manage my pain. Secondly, one of the nursery nurses almost gave us the wrong baby one of the nights out of the four nights I was there. Then when it was finally for me and the baby to be discharged they took forever to give both mine and her discharge paperwork and instructions too. Lastly when they finally got an orderly to bring me down with a wheelchair she tries to tell my husband to put our baby's carseat on me with the baby in the carseat even though I still had staples in me and was crying in pain from them, and the nurse had just told me not to lift the carseat and nothing heavier than the baby right before that. My husband and I both wanted to slap the orderly in the head. She also kept telling my husband to not swing the carseat around, which he never did, he held it steady and firm all the way to the first floor. Most of the nurses that took care of me took forever to get me some painkillers too. Also I never could get any sleep for the life of me there as well. I was in tears almost every night. I really hated this hospital.
Oncology nurses and CNA's are exceptional! – After my husband was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma he was sent to Sierra Medical Center to receive his chemotherapy. The staff on the Oncology floor has been nothing but exceptional. All the nurses and CNA's have treated my husband like family. My mother-in-law, who has 39 years experience as a Cardiac/Critical Care nurse, was very impressed with how well they cared for her son. It is because of the amazing staff her that we requested to have his treatments continue here in El Paso instead of having the army transfer him to San Antonio. I can't say enough good things about everyone on the Oncology floor. Thanks so much for making my husband feel at home!
Absolutely Great Care At Sierra – My son had a terrible asthma attack and we went to the ER at Sierra Medical Center. They saw him immediately without hesitation. The nurses rapidly started taking care of him, giving him breathing treatments and shots. The doctor and nurse practitioner were quick to get him better and stable and everyone provided great care.
Happy with the Care – We had a great experience with my daughter's care! She was sent by emergency for a possible broken leg. The nurses were very attentative to her and made her comfortable there. They got us in and out and even called with the results. Would definitely go back.
TERRIBLE HOSPITAL CARE – My dad had a back operation, and (1)they overdose him on morphine. He couldnt talk coherart or understand
anything. (2) he fell and noone around, (3) went to visit
dad not hooked up to machines at all. (4) checked my dad's chart, noone had checked on him since 5:00 am
and it was now 10:30 a.m. (5) has infection, and blister on incusion where he was operated on. (6) thearpist suppose to help him walk 3x a day, only comes 1x a day. (7) went to find nurse to advise we were leaving, all
floor nurses in conference room watching tv, noone on floor. Shall I go on, tried calling director this morning,
said, they would call me back, and still waiting
Unorganized – They wrote down all my information wrong. My age was wrong my name was mispelled and even after i had told them to change it my records still showed these mistakes!!!!!!!!
awful service and staff – I was very upset with how my mother was treated as a patient. The doctors and nurses were very unhelpful and very rude. They gave my mother a wrong diet, which made her even more weak. The doctors were very rude when i would ask questions. I was very appalled by their service. I would recommend not going to this hospital inless you want to be treated badly and have poor service.
