Didn't want the massage to end!!!. For my 20th birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a massage from Barragan's. An hour and a half of pure bliss and relaxation.. First, I started off in the massage "prep" room, where I undressed in a soothing atmosphere which perfectly set the mood for the massage that followed. Once inside the massage room, I was greeted my a friendly massage therapist who took the time to find out where my body needed the most attention. Her hands were soft yet firm, and she worked out all my knots. I was in heaven. During the massage I kept thinking "I never want this to end!" After the phenomenal hour and a half massage, I received a mini-facial and 15 minutes in the steam room. I have never felt so pampered before. It was certainly a birthday gift that I'll never forget. The price totally justifies the amazing experience. Barragan's is no "massage-in-the-mall" place. The quality of their massage services are beyond extraordinary. I only wish time would stay still so the massage would last forever!!!!!!!

Great Cut, So-So Highlights. I was very, very happy with my cut at this salon - it was great. However, my highlights were only okay - there were gaps at the crown of my head where there were no highlights at all.

The part of the experience that bothered me the most, however, was when I called in and asked for a recommendation for a stylist who was known for good highlights. I had recently moved to the area and had seen my previous stylist for 15 years, so I was nervous about seeing someone new and said so. The receptionist said that everyone was trained the same and no one was better than another - now, come on, even with the same training someone is going to be better at doing highlights, someone better at single process color, etc. It seemed like they were trying to fill the schedules of people who were less busy, which is fine for their stylists but not necessarily the client. I am accustomed to waiting several weeks for an appointment with a good stylist, but the people they recommended to me all had appointments available the same week I was calling, which is what made me think they were pushing the less busy stylists.

The most frustrating part was that when I was getting cut and highlighted, the woman at the station next to me did AT LEAST 3 clients' blonde highlights. Clearly, if I were planning to return, I would have wanted to see HER. Oh well, I got a great cut out of it and an okay highlight. My stylist was also very nice and professional, so overall it balanced out. I'm looking elsewhere for highlights, though.

Save Yourself the Hassle!!!!. I wouldn't even give this a one star but the other place I wrote a review told me I had too...

I had a customer service issue with this place, but the massage, facial and pedicure really weren't worth the

price they charge.

I was given an online gift certificate for the Therapeutic spa package... when I went to pay I was asked if I had used this gift certificate before, I almost laughed... I said no I hadn't. She said well there's only $35 available on here...... so she finally discovered someone had used the same gift certificate number at their westside location... and now here I am trying to use it at the eastside location. She asked if I knew somone by the name of Kathy Cates, and I don't!! So I said no...... but that wasn't good enough. They're going to "investigate" what happened, and then if it's determined I'm lying, they'll charge my credit card!

But here's the real kicker to the story: The manager refused to come up front to speak with me in person after I requested to speak with him/her twice!!!!! I was disgusted with how they handled my situation and it honestly ruined my relaxed afternoon. Now I'm pissed off and aggravated. Way to deliver Barragan's!!!

OVERRATED!. I booked my appointment two weeks in advance for a wedding that I would be attending with my daughter and thought I would have left having a great experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I ended up waiting 30 min after my scheduled appointment because they double booked and my stylist Javier butchered my hair. The other stylist Eva was terrible!! Not only did she not speak english so I could explain to her about my daughters hair, she didn't even know how the straighten curly hair. I arrived 3 hours before the wedding so I would have plenty of time to get ready and ended up having to change at the salon because they take so long. I did not mind paying the money to go to the salon since I knew it was nicer than most until I looked at my receipt and noticed they over charged. When I asked about the charge, they said it was because the stylist has to straighten my daughters hair twice which I thought was unbelievable since I could do it personally in one try. I am very disappointed in all of the services, stylists and most of all the management. They will not even discuss a problem you have nor take any blame. I would highly discourage anyone from going here due to lack of professionalism and credibility. Save your money and time,

Amazing Massages. Barragan's Salon & Spa is great! My bf and I came here for a couple's massage and it was awesome! Nice, clean, comfortable. We come into the salon for massages at least once a month.

OUCH!. Had a Brazilian there. The aesthetician was fast (that is a plus), but she hardly spoke to me. The procedure went quickly and hurt about the same as usual. When I got home, there was blood all over my panties, and I found about a 1 cm cut in my pubic area where she had ripped the skin away and had not mentioned it to me. In addition, there was still hair on the labia. Apparently she realized what happened, did not mention it to me, and wanted to finish up quickly and get me out. So not only did she hurt me and not mention it, but she did not even finish the job. Had she mentioned it, apologized, or done a thorough waxing, I would have been OK. She did none of that, and when I called, the receptionist was rude and management was unavailable. Careful whom you trust with your pubes!

AMAZING SERVICE - TRUE PROFESSIONAL EAST SALON. My review is of the newer Eastside salon. I had a true emergency with my hair being COMPLETELY ruined both in color and permanent follicle damage by another salon.

I called Barragan's East looking for a color and structure corrective specialist as an emergency and was directed to Crystal who told me to come in as soon as I could.

From the moment I arrived at Barragan's looking like Bozo the Clown I was treated with respect and compassion. After just a few minutes wait I was in consultation and 'game plan' was established for what could be done to make my hair look presentable for the short term while planning for the reconstruction/while the damage grows out the long term plan.

That afternoon my color was no longer Crayon Orange but a normal copper brown and I felt like I was now in true professional hands.

Within only a couple of weeks Crystal had hair my hair in closer condition to my before the 'chop shop disaster' than I could have imagined.

I am extremely cautious of my hair care and I have found a stylist and salon where I can relax and enjoy being pampered with no worries.

Awesome Pedicure!!. My sister and I visited Barragan's (east side location) for the first time today, and will definitely be going back. We went in for pedicures, and were set up with Veronica and Kathryn. These two girls are awesome! My sister and I are very pleased with our pedicures and the service we recieved from them. Aside from giving a great pedi, they are very friendly, which is equally as important. I am so pleased with my pedicure that I can't wait for the next one; I'm definitely going to be a regular at Barragan's.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the receptionist/cashier was not competent; I hope she was just having an "off" day.
